The ALP Blood Test measures the amount of this enzyme in your bloodstream. Unlike other liver tests (like SGPT), ALP is specialized. It acts as a "flow monitor" for your liver's bile ducts and a "growth monitor" for your bones. High levels usually indicate a blockage in the liver or high activity in bone tissue.
