The Free Lambda (lambda) Light Chain Test measures the concentration of unbound Lambda immunoglobulin light chains circulating in the blood. Immunoglobulins (antibodies) are built from two heavy chains and two light chains (either Kappa (kappa) or Lambda (lambda).
In healthy individuals, the vast majority of light chains are incorporated into complete antibodies.
