The Fructosamine Serum Test is a blood test used to assess the average blood glucose control over a shorter time frame, typically the preceding 2 to 3 weeks.
Fructosamine is a generic name for glycated proteins (specifically, proteins, like albumin, that have glucose attached to them). Just like HbA1c reflects glucose control over 2–3 months by measuring glycated hemoglobin, Fructosamine reflects glucose control over 2–3 weeks because the circulating protein it attaches to (Albumin) has a shorter lifespan.
At Augmentum Diagnostics, an NABL-Accredited Lab in Delhi, we offer Fructosamine testing as a valuable tool for short-term diabetic management.
