The Immunoglobulin E (IgE) Level Test measures the total concentration of IgE antibodies in the blood serum. IgE is the least abundant of the five major classes of antibodies but plays a critical and unique role in the immune system.
IgE is primarily responsible for triggering the immune response against allergens and parasitic infections. When IgE binds to mast cells and basophils, subsequent exposure to a specific allergen causes the release of inflammatory mediators (like histamine), leading to immediate hypersensitivity reactions (Type I), such as asthma, rhinitis, and anaphylaxis.
At Augmentum Diagnostics, an NABL Accredited Lab in Delhi, including our location near Dwarka, we provide accurate IgE quantification for the investigation of allergic and parasitic disorders.
