The Leptospira DNA PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) Test is a highly sensitive molecular test used to detect the genetic material (DNA) of the Leptospira bacteria directly in patient samples (blood, urine, or CSF).
Unlike antibody tests (IgM and IgG), which rely on the body's immune response, PCR detects the presence of the pathogen itself. This makes it the test of choice for early diagnosis during the acute phase of Leptospirosis (usually the first 7-10 days of illness), before the body has mounted a detectable antibody response.
At Augmentum Diagnostics, an NABL-Accredited Lab in Delhi, including our location near Dwarka, we utilize advanced PCR technology to provide rapid and definitive diagnosis during the critical early stages of Leptospirosis.
