The Leptospira IgG Antibody Test is a serological blood test used to detect the presence of IgG class antibodies against the Leptospira bacteria. Leptospira is the causative agent of Leptospirosis, a zoonotic disease transmitted through contact with infected animal urine or contaminated water/soil.
IgG antibodies are typically produced later in the infection, usually appearing about 2 to 4 weeks after symptoms begin. Unlike IgM (the early marker), IgG remains detectable for months or years after recovery, providing evidence of past or recent infection and long-term immunological memory.
At Augmentum Diagnostics, an NABL-Accredited Lab in Delhi, including our location near Dwarka, we offer reliable serological testing to aid in the diagnosis of Leptospirosis.
